qualified Oncology RN in Albany, Georgia, 31701 About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Oncology Job
Specialty: Oncology - Med Surg Job Duration: 8-week contract Shift:
12-Hour Nights Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week Experience:
Minimum 2 years in specialty required License: Valid RN License
required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: -
Ability to start on specified dates - Commitment to work all
holidays during the contract Job Description: - Provide nursing
care for patients on the oncology medical-surgical floor - Work
primarily with acute oncology symptoms, including thrombocytopenia,
neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology, medical overflow, and
end-of-life care - Operate within a unit that holds 29 beds,
maintaining patient ratios generally around 1:5, occasionally
reaching 1:6 - Collaborate with a team that generally includes 3
nurse aides per day - Participate in rotating weekend schedule
(every other weekend required) - Rotate holidays with permanent
staff - Don Caribbean Blue scrubs as uniform - Utilize central
monitoring systems; no requirement to read strips - Experience with
the MEDITECH charting system preferred - Engage in 3 days of
floor-specific orientation - Rarely float to other units, primarily
focused on medical acute care - Outpatient area patients may
transition to the floor if needed for ongoing treatment completion
