Danfoss Turbocor Global Headquarters is looking for an Application
Engineer to join our growing Application Engineering team. In this
newly created position, you will be the global expert in Danfoss
Turbocor oil-free centrifugal compressors, providing support for
our global network of OEM customers.
As an Application Engineer, you will provide engineering-level
technical support to successfully integrate Turbocor compressors
into chillers, refrigeration, heat pumps, and other vapor
compression systems. Application Engineers collaborate with the
Turbocor Development Engineering team, OEM design professionals,
and Key Account Managers throughout the development process,
providing best-in-class-level service and technical support for our
customers. Application Engineers also work closely with the Product
Management, Technical Service, and Quality teams to promote,
develop, and improve Danfoss Turbocor products. As an expert, your
problem-solving skills supported by strong communication and
interpersonal skills are required to improve the operation and
efficiency of Turbocor-based systems.
This position would involve up to 40% travel, domestic and
international. When you're not traveling, you'll work out of our
Turbocor Headquarters in Tallahassee, Florida. If you don't already
live in Florida, we are happy to offer relocation assistance.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to,
the following:
--- Interface directly with OEM design professionals to seamlessly
integrate Turbocor compressors into their products' mechanical,
electrical, and control systems.
--- Travel to OEMs to provide application training, prototype
testing support, qualification, product promotion, and system
troubleshooting services.
--- Serve as the primary technical interface between the Danfoss
Turbocor Engineering functions and the OEM technical support team.
This responsibility will require clear and timely oral and written
technical communication.
--- Participate in and evaluate OEM customer equipment field
startups and communicate findings and recommendations in written
report format.
--- Responsible for understanding and complying with quality
policies, procedures, and instructions to ensure product quality,
customer satisfaction, attainment of business goals, and
environmental well-being.
--- Creating product technical documentation for design,
application, and bulletins.
--- Capable of developing detailed technical reports to communicate
both externally and intracompany
Background & Skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
--- Experience in refrigeration system design and cycle
analysis
--- Knowledge of refrigerant properties and PH diagram analysis
--- Experience and expertise in reading, interpreting, and creating
PID diagrams
--- Experience in creating effective control logic, sequences of
operation, and programming for multi-purpose PLC (Siemens, Carel,
Danfoss MCX, or other) or dedicated controllers of complex
electromechanical devices in real-time.
--- Must have basic knowledge of common electronic controls
integration protocols including but not limited to Modbus, RS232,
RS485, and CAN bus
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
--- Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical-related
degree
--- Strong interpersonal and both verbal and written communication
skills
--- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills and experience with
advanced capability in Excel a strong plus
--- Successful candidate should meet one of the following
qualifications:
--- 5 years of industry experience and deep technical knowledge of
centrifugal chiller, screw chiller, or related industrial equipment
(engines, compressors, generators, turbines, etc.)
